Intellectual Development and Wisdom Enrichment

CU Book Festival

Through a series of events, the CU Book Festival aims to foster literary and cultural engagement within the CUHK campus. The Book Festival features Book Talks, Book Crossing Pavilion, Exhibition and other intellectually enriching activities. Beyond providing a platform to share books, ideas, and perspectives, the Festival strives to cultivate a vibrant reading environment on campus and nurture a lifelong passion for reading and learning among the university’s students.

Cultural exchange activities with CUHK-Shenzhen

Cultural exchange activities, co-organised by SEDS of OSA with OSA of CUHK-Shenzhen, aim to foster mutual understanding and cross-cultural dialogue between students of both campuses. The programme includes academic sharing and cultural experiences, offering participants valuable opportunities to broaden their perspectives and build lasting connections. Students gain deeper insights in both campuses cultures, while developing respect for diversity and a global mindset.

Embracing Community

Students can step beyond the classroom into Hong Kong’s community through different sessions of Embracing Community activities in the summer. Topics such as local culture, cuisine, art, and animal welfare are covered. Students could form deep connections with local communities and treasured stories of the neighbourhoods.

Theatre in the Mountain

Theatre in the Mountain aims to create an enriching and immersive cinematic experience for students. One featured film will be screened monthly in the semester. Production teams, film critics or professional guests are invited to deliver post-screening discussions to share the message in the film. These informal learning activities provide students with opportunities to deepen their self-awareness and reflect on their role within the community.
