In Dialogue with China: Yunnan Tie-Dye in Full Bloom 2026

Are you eager to experience the charm of China's intangible cultural heritage in person? We cordially invite you to join the "In Dialogue with China: Yunnan Tie-Dye in Full Bloom 2026" exchange tour!

 

You will have hands-on experience of the Bai ethnic group's tie-dye technique to create a classic indigo blue base with white flowers and magical ice-crack patterns; stroll through the ancient streets of Kunming and the Bai’s ancient towns surrounded by Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake in Dali, immerse yourself in the vibrant cultures of 26 ethnic groups in Yunnan. Through in-depth dialogues, you could foster heartfelt connections with the university students in Chinese Mainland and embark on a cultural journey that blooms like spring flowers!

10–16 May 2026 (7 days, 6 nights)

Activity Schedule

Interview: 30 January 2026 (Friday) and 3 February 2026 (Tuesday)

Briefing Session: Mid-March 2026 (TBC)

Pre-departure Training: Mid-April 2026 (TBC)

Sharing Session: Late May 2026 (TBC)

Eligibility & Requirements

1.  CUHK Full-time undergraduate students

2.  Able to communicate in Putonghua (Mandarin)

3.  Interested in Chinese culture

4.  Keen on experiencing traditional arts and minority ethnic cultures

Quota

14 (Requires an interview and selection process)

Fee

HK$4,000 + HK$1,000 deposit (Deposit refundable upon completion of all activities)
