Rural Revitalisation Summer Service-Learning Trip 2026

Want to unlock the hidden wonders of Fujian’s Yushan Island? Picture this: strolling through Tianhu alpine meadows where mountains meet the sea in magical views!

 

Engage with village elders to learn net-weaving, boat-building, wedding traditions, and ancient architectural skills; visit historic wells to uncover community stories and ecological wisdom; take part in small-scale restoration and oral history recording, fostering connections between Hong Kong and mainland youth while contributing to sustainable rural development with CUHK(SZ) students.

 

Departure Date

20–26 June 2026 (7 days, 6 nights)

Activity Schedule

Interview: 25 – 26 February 2026 (Wednesday & Thursday)

Introductory Session: 25 March 2026 (Wednesday), 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Briefing Session: Early June 2026 (TBC)

Eligibility & Requirements

  1. Full-time CUHK students

  2. Able to communicate in Putonghua (Mandarin)

  3. Interested in rural revitalisation, cultural preservation, and sustainable development

  4. Willing to participate in physical work (e.g., minor renovation) and teamwork

Quota

20 (Requires an interview and selection process)

Fee

HK$2,800 + HK$1,000 deposit (Deposit refundable upon completion of all activities)
