CUHK HKACA Student Leadership Program 2024-25

About The Event

A student team of flag-raising will be formed, through the collaboration among different units, including Colleges, Strategic Events and External Projects Office (SEEPO), Security Office (SCU), Office of Student Affairs (OSA) and Hong Kong Army Cadets Association (HKACA). The main duty of the student leader team is to attend respective training sessions and take part in all the Flag Raising Ceremony held at CUHK.

It is expected that participated students will be able to acquire the skills and develop the attributes below after participating in the Student Leadership Program:

  • Acquired essential skills on the national and regional flag-raising skills;
  • Developed a stronger sense of belonging and commitment to the CUHK and the community;
  • Developed better skills on leadership, communication and collaboration.

Host / Partner:

Office of Student Affairs (OSA)

The   OSA will be responsible for the recruitment of the program and nominate successful candidates to take part in the HKACA Student Leadership Program.

Security Office (SCU)

The Security Office will keep liaising with   HKACA to plan and manage the training sessions that are suitable to prepare the selected CUHK student leaders for the upcoming Flag-raising Ceremony.

Strategic Events   and External Projects Office (SEEPO)

The SEEPO will keep coordinating internal meetings for OSA, SCU and SEEPO, and provide suggestions for the Student Leadership   Program and the well-trained CUHK flag raising team.

Colleges and   Graduate School

Colleges and Graduate School will nominate at least 1 student to take part in program. It is suggested that the flag-raising team should be formed by students representing undergraduate students of 9 Colleges and postgraduate students.

Cantonese / Mandarin

Target participants & requirements:

All CUHK full-time undergraduate and   postgraduate students

Fee:

Free ($100 deposit can be fully refunded after the completion of the course and   practicums offered by HKACA)

Allowance & Certificate:

Students who can fulfil the training and attendance requirements will receive a certificate issued by the Association of Hong Kong Flag-guards after completion of the course and practicum.
