A Sharing Session with the Secretary for the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau

On 15 April, 2025, the CUHK Flag-Guards Team proudly welcomed Ms. Mak Mei Kuen Alice, SBS, JP, the Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, for an engaging meeting. She was joined by distinguished CUHK guests, including:


  • Mr. Kenneth Chen Wei-on, GBS, Vice-President (Administration)

  • Prof. Ko Wing Hung, University Dean of Students

  • Ms. Tam Yi Lam Elaine, Director, Office of Student Affairs

  • Mr. Lee Wing Kong Simon, Director of Security and Transport

  • Ms. Cheung Wang Yim Lavender, Director of Communications and Public Relations Office

  • Dr. Law Ying Lun Tommy, Head of Student Experience and Development, Office of Student Affairs


The meeting focused on various youth-related issues and aimed to encourage CUHK students to participate in more activities and events organised by HYAB and CUHK.



During the discussion, CUHK Flag-Guards team members shared their experiences, learnings, and personal growth gained from participating in flag-raising activities and training offered by CUHK and the Hong Kong Army Cadets Association (HKACA). They expressed how these opportunities enhance their team spirit and effectively strengthen their national identity.

The meeting fostered a spirit of collaboration and inspiration among students, underscoring the significance of active involvement in the university community and the valuable resources provided by HYAB.



Ms. Mak encouraged more students to join the Flag-Guards Team and contribute to both the nation and Hong Kong!
