The CUHK Flag-Guards Team has won 1st Runner-Up in the Flag Raising Competition organised by the Hong Kong Army Cadets Association (HKACA) on 6 April

2025. Four remarkable members—LUK Man Ting, CHEUNG Yuk Yan, LI Yi Yan, and YAN Yihang—represented The Chinese University of Hong Kong with outstanding performances.

These students dedicated countless evenings to practice, honing their skills and learning the importance of collaboration. Their commitment to teamwork has made us incredibly proud!

Here are some inspiring thoughts shared by our talented members:

LI Yi Yan (Year 2, BBA Professional Accountancy)

"Participating in the flag-raising competition gave me a renewed understanding of my country. The rehearsals made me reflect on my roots and pride as a Chinese person. The journey taught me the value of perseverance and the true spirit of teamwork."

YAN Yihang (Year 1, MA in English (Applied English Linguistics))

"I am honored to have achieved second place in the HKACA flag-raising competition. I am grateful for the support from CUHK and the instructors from HKACA. This experience has sharpened my skills and strengthened my friendships, confirming that I made the right decision to participate!"

CHEUNG Yuk Yan (Year 1, BCMED Chinese Medicine)
