Updated: May 20

ree

Seize the moment, embrace life; step into the community, uncover endless possibilities.

This summer, we will host four "Embracing Community" summer activities, hoping students could explore different things and issues in the city during the holidays, connect with the community, discovering the story in it and feel the connections between people. Details are as follows:

1st Session – Hong Kong Cultural Tours Project Guided Tour (To Kwa Wan - Transformation is Eternal – The Old Workshop)

In this community tour themed “Transformation is Eternal – The Old Workshop”, CUHK student docents will take you on a journey through Hong Kong's industrial history. You will step into once-popular E-shaped buildings of the 1970s to explore the lives and beliefs of the residents, visit the Wing Heung Café, the unique 13 Streets, and the revitalised Cattle Depot Artist Village. All CUHK students are welcome to delve into the rich history and development of our vibrant metropolis this summer.

The tour will be guided by our dedicated student docents, who have undergone extensive professional training and designed the route and content themselves, from the Hong Kong Cultural Tour Project. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to contribute to the CUHK community by sharing the rich tapestry of Hong Kong's history and culture beyond the campus. In the tour, you will gain a deeper understanding of Hong Kong's heritage and broaden your horizons through engaging interactions.
